3rd Series:

A superb 6 Reds Snooker last evening with a record 19 combatants (my bad – players) for the first game of the 3rd series of this event.

It was good to see our ‘new’ snooker room fully utilised. The atmosphere was electric all evening with tension rising and reaching a crescendo for the final.

Nigel Livingstone won a close encounter against Mick Bennett with a black ball finish, a feature of several games throughout the evening.
We were joined for the first time by new members, Michael Pearce and Matthew Hamblin. Matthew reached the semi-final, going out in a close match to Mick Bennett.

Some quotes from last night:

Neil Pritchard    ‘Brilliant evening, great company and great fun’
Michael Pearce  ‘I had no idea that joining NEBC Snooker Club would be such great entertainment. I just wish I had joined the NEBC Snooker Club, (as a junior), the playing standard I saw tonight was outstanding and certainly something to strive and achieve’.
Matthew Hamblin ‘  I was pleased to reach the semi-final at my first attempt. The organisation of the event was excellent and certainly on par with Wimbledon and The Crucible. I look forward very much to the next event and will practice 24/7 until then’.

Big shout out to Tim Williams for co-hosting this event and Peter Minchin* for refereeing the final.

Everyone did their bit with refereeing during the evening and clearing the room afterwards – greatly appreciated.

The next exciting event is Monday, 29 September, 2025.
