NEBC – Snooker Ladder

The ladder is designed for members (particularly new members) to meet others snooker players and to determine  the squads  for the winter Snooker League

Rules

  1. All full members of NEBC will be eligible to join the snooker ladder.
  2. All initial members will be positioned alphabetically at the start of the ladder.
  3. Players can challenge anyone three or less places above them on the ladder.
  4. Challenges can be made verbally, by text, Whatsapp or email.
  5. Matches will be the best of three frames.
  6. If the challenger wins then they take over the challenged player’s place on the ladder and that person and any others between the two starting positions move down one place.
  7. The ladder should be adjusted by the players when the match is completed.
  8. If the challenger loses then there is no change to the ladder.
  9. A Ladder Diary will be kept next to the ladder in the NEBC snooker room. All matches should be recorded in the diary on the date of the match, showing players, result and any placing change resulting. eg John Smith beat Jim Jones and moved to 10 th in the ladder.
  10. Any player who has not played for a period of six weeks may be moved down five places on the ladder. If a change of this type occurs then this movement will also be recorded in the Ladder Diary. eg John Smith moved from 3 rd to 8 th place having not played for six weeks.
  11. Should the number of players joining the ladder exceed the twenty-four places on the ladder then there will be a “pool” of players who may challenge any of the bottom three players on the ladder.
  12. All participants agree to their contact details being available to other ladder players.
  13. Once the ladder is set up members wishing to join the ladder should contact Peter Minchin by email peterhminchin@btinternet.com or by whatsapp/text on 07973 642203.
  14. Future new joiners will start at the bottom rung of the ladder.
